A-level Music can quickly shift from being your favorite subject to one that leaves you bewildered and unsure how to revise. Unfortunately, being highly skilled at music does not guarantee an A*, and recognizing the difference between practicing your instrument and focusing on essay technique and composition can be the deciding factor in your final grade.

How can I help?

Composition

Essay practice

Set work preparation

I am currently studying composition at the Royal Academy of Music and received full marks for my composition. While I can't write your composition for you, I would be more than happy to support your composition abilities and ensure that your final piece is the best it can be.

Essay practice is often overlooked due to it undeniably being the least exciting part of the course. We will mainly focus on squeezing as you can from the set work, writing a balance essay with a clear structure and supporting your analysis with context of the composer.

Set works can be very polarizing and everyone has there favorites. We can work together to ensure that you have detailed notes on every set work to prepare you for in-depth essay analysis and listening questions.

£30 for 60 minutes

Sessions with me can range from a discussion through your composition with helpful tips to ensure the examiners can't help but give you full marks to mock written papers with guidance on how to improve those pesky 20 and 30 markers
